Hi, Julie, I painted this before we came to Brazil. There's no story behind the picture. It's just a little boy. I am having a dickens of a time painting anything new, though. Serious painters block, I guess.
I knew you had painted it before, but I like hearing about why you painted what you paint. It's interesting to hear. Like, did you see this photo and love his expression? Or with your water scenes, were you painting a favorite location? Or just playing with a new technique? It would be fun to hear more about your painting.
You need to drive through the favellas (sp?!) and take some snapshots. That will give you something to paint!
I'm curious too, how do you find the pictures you paint? Do you usually paint from a photo? That's usually how I do it, but I was wondering if it's the same for you?
